Polartec Power Grid Fleece — Lightweight, Breathable Warmth

92% Polyester, 8% Spandex, Weight per Linear Yard: 7.5 oz.

Warm, but not sweaty. Technical, but still cozy. This is Polartec Power Grid — a lightweight grid-back fleece with open channels that trap warmth and let moisture escape. Designed for next-to-skin use, it regulates body temp like a pro without bulking you up.

Please Note: This fabric is marked as 2nds quality due to a minor flaw — in some areas, you may notice a slightly looser weave that creates a pinhead-sized open knit spot. These are subtle and don’t affect the overall performance of the fabric. With a bit of care in pattern placement, most sewists should be able to work around them easily. We’ve priced this accordingly — the price reflects the small imperfection.

This version features a horizontal fleece grid (not vertical), giving it a subtle ribbed texture. That makes it ideal for base layers, mid layers, or any garment meant to live under something else.

Whether you're sewing a thermal tee, a hiking top, or a hoodie you’ll live in all winter, this fabric brings the function without the fuss.

Why we love it:

• Grid backing = airflow + moisture management
• Lightweight fleece warmth with minimal bulk
• Jersey outer face = smooth for layering
• Soft two-way stretch
• 62" wide — more fabric per yard
• Deadstock from performance mill — style J8250
• Solid color, easy to pair and sew

Sewing Notes:
Normally we don’t fuss about right vs. wrong side, but this one matters: the fleece side should face your skin for best performance. On lighter colors, you might see some grid show-through, so avoid patterns that over-stretch the fabric or rely on full opacity.

Care Instructions:
Machine wash warm, normal cycle. Do not bleach or use fabric softener — it messes with moisture wicking. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not dry clean.
